Hi I'm Debbie Smith

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in South Carolina and attended Brigham Young University.

About Me

I have a wonderful husband and 3 amazing children. I have a daughter who is 23, a son who is 20 and another son that is 12. I graduated from Brigham young University as a registered nurse and worked until I had children. I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to stay at home to care for my children because I think it is so important to spend every single moment you can with your children. Time passes so quickly and before you know it they are out of your home and on their own. My son who is 20 is serving a 2 year mission for the church right now in japan! I am so proud of him!! My daughter is finishing her education at Brigham Young University. I miss them being at home so much but I know I have to let them grow and begin their own lives. I hope my husband and I have prepared them to make good choices as they go out into the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it makes sense in every way! I have attended several private schools of other faiths and they all have a portion of the truth, but when you add the Book of Mormon it adds to and clarifies those truths so that there is a much better understanding not only of the scriptures themselves but of our Heavenly Fathers Plan for us here on earth. There are no mysteries as far as what any of the scriptures mean when you use the Book of Mormon along with the Bible. They clarify and add to each other. I am so grateful to know the truth in all it's fulness. I am so humbled by my Heavenly Fathers love for me by allowing me to be raised in the church and have the fullness of the truth and all the high standards of the church my entire life!

How I live my faith

I serve the people in my church by organizing and keeping track of the monthly visits our sisters make to check on each other. every sister in the ward is organized into a companionship of 2 sisters and assigned to visit several sisters each month and check on them and their family. If anything is needed by these families they will report back to the leaders in the ward who will take care of these needs.
