Hi I'm Marissa

I am a Latter Day Saint and I love it.

About Me

I am going to an Audiologist. I have had my heart set on being an Audiologist since I was young and my great aunt had told me about being able to help people and see the progress they were able to have. I am the oldest of two sisters and one brother, that's right I'm the guinea pig of the children. I was born in Radford Virginia on July fourth, I've since then moved to Utah and have lived there ever since. I play the piano, dance, draw, sing, do extreme sports and play sports. I am an extreme optimist. I love the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was eight years old, but that's not when my testimony started to grow. The foundation of my testimony starts in when I was in a serious car accident. People always say that your life could change in the blink of an eye, but do any of us really believe that our lives could be changed so quickly? I know that I didn't think mine could, until the car accident. As the driver started fooling around I sat in the back of the truck with only a lap belt, not knowing that this would be my tether to this life. After a course of events, the truck rolled several times, I waited to see my life flash before my eyes, and when I didn't see images of my former happenings my mind became set on getting out of the truck. When trying to free myself I became aware of the pain I was in, not knowing at that time that I had two fractured vertebrae, this was the first time in a while that I turned to rely fully on Christ my Savior. After praying for his help and his love I felt hands wrap around my head to hold it in place. I heard his voice and I felt his hands, but I never saw his face. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for sending that man, without whom I could have paralyzed myself while trying to turn my head. I know that our Heavenly Father is there for us and always will be. I know that he hears our prayers. I believe that we are given trials that Heavenly Father knows we can handle and that will make us stronger. I am a Mormon because I can feel his love.

How I live my faith

I have several passions but one of my main passions are people. I love to observe people, especially when they are being helped. There is nothing quite like seeing the gratitude of someone who was in need, and you were that person to satisfy such need. I am always looking for ways to help people. I try to always stay positive, I am almost always telling myself that it could be worse.
