Hi I'm Jon

I grew up in Texas. I speak English and Spanish. I'm an engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wife and 2 kids. My family is the most important thing in my life outside of my relationship with the Savior. I spend as much time with my family as I can. One of my goals in life is to give my children a safe, happy, and loving environment in which they can learn and grow. I went to a 4 year university and recently finished up graduate school in engineering. I enjoy learning how things around me work and I like solving problems. I enjoy staying active through outdoor activities such as skiing, running, and hiking. I also enjoy watching movies with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon and brought my siblings and I up in the church. They served in many volunteer positions within the church and were amazing examples of selfless service. As I grew up in the church I began to develop a testimony of Jesus Christ and his influence in my life. My testimony has been strengthened through my experiences of being a parent and teaching my own children how to make good choices. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the true church because I have prayed and asked God this very question and I received an answer that it was.

How I live my faith

I work with the youth in our church, the young men specifically. Each week we participate in activities that help increase their faith in the Lord. Another responsibility, or privilege as i like to call it, is to be a home teacher. A home teacher is a member of the church who is assigned to look out for another family or families' spiritual and temporal well-being. I enjoy the time I spend with the families I am assigned and the opportunities I have to serve them. This church is truly an institution of service. I feel that when we serve we get so much more from the act of service then the person we are serving. I hope to instill this love for service in my children.
