Hi I'm Joseph

I have a great big family, and they're the best. I love sports and music. I love the great outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved to Utah from Wisconsin when I was about six. I have lived here ever since. I am not necessarily very talented in any sport, but I really love sports. I make a great spectator. I love music, but cannot play any instruments, except a little piano. I have a really big family. I have served as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in and around Tulsa Oklahoma. I am currently studying finance at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I love to play games, be outside, work with my hands, have fun with friends, eat food, and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I've been a mormon for virtually all my life. I love the gospel. I have a strong testimony in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that I am a literal son of God. I know God loves me. I know that no matter how many mistakes I make of any proportion that I can change and become clean again. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ I can repent of all of my sins, great or small. I also know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, not only can we change and repent of our sins, but we can also be healed from any heart ache and pain we could possibly experience in this life. Everything unfair or bad we experience in this life can be made right through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is my savior, and I love him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending Sunday worship meetings very regularly. I also attend church activities and classes throughout the week. I regularly attend the temple, which is a special place for members of the church to get away from the pressures of the world for a time and meditate and pray. Worship in the House of the Lord is a very special practice to me and is one of the most important things for my life. I read my scriptures daily. And above all else I strive everyday to do what I know is right. I strive everyday to be a true disciple of Christ. I believe to truly be a disciple of Jesus Christ you can't just go through the motions. You have to have a change of heart. It has to be part of who you are. And I try everyday to make it that way for myself. I am not perfect, but it is really important to me to give it my very best every single day. I served a two year mission in Oklahoma, where I went around and told people about the restored gospel, shared with them my beliefs and my faith in Jesus Christ (and the joy and peace that living the gospel brings to my life), performed service for anyone I came in contact with, etc.

Are Mormons Christians?

To answer this very simply the answer is absolutely yes. I have heard it said among Mormons that Jesus Christ is the "cornerstone" of our religion as Mormons. This is true. Our beliefs are broad, and we have views and opinions about a lot of different things. But when it all comes down to it, the one thing that all of our beliefs are built on top of is Jesus Christ and his Atonement. That is our true foundation. For me, personally, If anyone asks what my beliefs are as a Mormon the first thing that I am going to reach for out of my "bag of beliefs" is my beliefs and my love for my Savior and Redeemer, my Master, Leader, and example. I am going to reach for my knowledge and faith in my King, my Jesus. I love him, and I will always love him. I will always trust in him. Through Him, His laws, teaching, and His atonement I am truly set free. I know He lives. I know that He payed the price for all of our sins, and that if we turn to Him there is no sin or pain that cannot be washed away from us. I testify that these things are true. And I do so in His name, Jesus Christ, Amen. Show more Show less
