Hi I'm Ronde

I'm a stay at home mom with 5 children. They are the greatest joy of my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family. I like to read historical fiction, watch movies-especially documentaries, do crossword puzzles, and spend time with my family playing games. ("Ticket to Ride" is our family favorite right now.) I also like to participate in triathalons, run 5ks with my kids, and vacation in the mountains. Swimming and biking are my favorites right now. I spend a lot of time coloring, painting, and going on bike rides with my 5-year-old daughter.

Why I am a Mormon

As a mother in these days, guidance from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to raise my children has been a must. I love them so much and want them to be the best they can be. This is a tall order, but I have had many answers to prayers. I am familiar with a feeling inside me that tells me when something is right or wrong. This is a gift recieved upon baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is called "the Gift of the Holy Ghost." This gift confirms truths, testifies of truths, comforts, guides, and warns in Jesus' name. Because Jesus died for me I also have the opportunity to repent of wrongs, be forgiven and feel the peace that comes from the grace Christ so willingly gave us so we could return to His and Heavenly Father's presence after this life. I know the Book of Mormon is a true book of God that affords us the fullness of the gospel for our understanding in these latter days. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God who restored Gospel.

How I live my faith

On Sunday's I love to teach the gospel to the little children in our church. They can feel the spirit and in return teach me how to have more faith in Christ. I help with the young women as they learn about their own potential through what we call the "Personal Progress Program." It is the equivilant of the Eagle Scout award for young men but it concentrates on learning values. These Values are Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Integrity and Virtue. For example, an experience for one of the Values is reading about Faith in the Bible and Book of Mormon then praying in the morning and at night for three weeks followed by writing about your experience in a journal. I help the young women make their goals and follow up. I am also helping the Young Women prepare for a week-long camp where we help them understand how to create the Spirit of Christ in their own homes.
