Hi I'm Ian!

I'm a Son. I'm a Brother. I'm a Student. I'm a Missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

SO! First and foremost I'm a missionary. I have lived all over because of my dad's work and I LOVE to travel. Before (and eventually after) my mission I was a full time student. I have an amazing family and love just hanging out with them. In my spare time I'm an actor, surfer, skater, Civil War Re-Enactor and a bunch of other stuff. If it's musical, I like it. I LOVE my life and thank my Heavenly Father every day for all the amazing opportunities he gives me. Oh yeah, by the way, I KNOW the gospel is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the gospel is true. Plain and simple. The story is long but the moral is short. For a long time I didn't know exactly what I had and seriously took it for granted. However, one day I had an experience that I'll never forget. I was coming back to my college dorm from church and BOOM. Something hit me. I had no idea what it was but something had changed forever and I knew it. A few days later I realized that the feeling I had experienced was the spirit telling me "Hey Ian! This stuff is true!" From there I've only gotten closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I love them. Why am I a Mormon? Because I've felt the atonement in my life and I know the peace that the gospel brings. This stuff is true. The atonement is real. I'm a Mormon because it is the only way to be truly happy in this life and to have my family with me in the next. I'm a Mormon because it's who I AM.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it with as many people as possible! You see, as of right now I'm about half way through my two year mission. I spend all day every day knocking on doors and shaking hands with total strangers to give them a chance at experiencing the joy that the gospel has given me personally in my life. After my mission I'm gonna do everything I can to help the work in any way I'm asked to. Whether it be helping out the missionaries or serving the people already in my ward in some way. I want to do everything I can for this gospel. I study the scriptures every single day and am constantly praying to my Father in Heaven for advice and guidance. I guess you could say I live my faith by living my life!

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

To be happy! Heavenly father knew we needed more chances to make choices and grow so he made the earth so we would have a place to make those choices. Sometimes we make the wrong choice but that's ok! That's what the atonement and gospel of Jesus Christ are for. We would have never become the people we are today without our mistakes. As we learn and grow and fall down and get back up we draw ourselves closer to our families, to our friends and most importantly to our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. And that, my friends, is the only way to be truly TRULY happy. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Whatever you need to hear! Our entire purpose as missionaries is to invite others to come unto Christ and to help you find out for yourself whether or not the gospel is true. We have a few "Lessons" that we need to teach people before before they can be baptized but that's far from all we do. We are going to talk about your concerns, questions, thoughts, beliefs and most importantly how the gospel and atonement of Jesus Christ can make you and your family happier. Show more Show less
