Hi I'm Hyrum

I love mountain biking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, and grew up out west. I love the mountains, and spend time outside as much as I can. My hobbies include mountain biking, camping, and recreational sports. Most of all, I love my family - they are my favorite people in the world!

Why I am a Mormon

As a Mormon, I have found the peace and happiness that come from knowing about God, what he wants me to do, and how I can return to live with Him. This knowledge has blessed my life in so many ways! It has helped me avoid vice, develop lasting friendships, and stay away from financial difficulty. Most importantly, as a Mormon, I have been able so strengthen my relationships with family members and with God.

How I live my faith

Paul said, if I "have not charity, I am nothing" (1 Corinthians 13:2). I try to develop charity and live as a Christian through service. Whether shoveling snow for a neighbor or taking part in a humanitarian outreach project, I do my best to live as God wishes and serve others. I also volunteer time with the 14-16 year old Boy Scouts in my neighborhood, mentoring them on campouts and weekly activities. I strive to maintain contact with my loving Heavenly Father through frequent prayer and scripture study. As I come to know Him and His will, I am better able to live my faith.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Modesty is an outward way to show how we feel about our bodies and morality. Parents should teach their children by example to be modest in dress and behavior. Parents should also monitor what their children wear, and should not purchase clothing that is immodest. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

I saved for my mission for my entire life! I am proud to say that I am paying for my mission, in it's entirety, from my own savings. It has been such a blessing to sacrifice not only my time, but also my money to help others and serve the Lord. Show more Show less
