Hi I'm Kami

I'm a pastry chef. I'm a Mormon. And love every bit of it.

About Me

I really love food; good food. So, I became a pastry chef. I can eat chocolate every day and not feel guilty! Taking an ordinary dessert and making it an unforgettable experience is exciting for me. I would much rather go grocery shopping than to the mall. I also love to rock climb, swing in hammocks and be out in nature. Noticing a beautiful sunset, starry night sky or lightning storm stops me in my tracks and reminds me what a beautiful world I live in.

Why I am a Mormon

There is nothing that brings me more peace and understanding than listening to a modern Prophet, reading the Bible or Book of Mormon, praying and living the principles of this gospel. I have learned through my silly, sad, disappointing and great life experiences that we have a loving Father in Heaven who wants us to be happy, truly happy. This church taught me about that. He has never let me down. He has answered my prayers. He has always lifted me up. I'm a member of this church because it helps me stay close to Him, which helps me to be my best so that, maybe, I can do the same for others. It brings such a wonderful feeling into my life. I know for myself that the teachings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are true, right and so good.

How I live my faith

The best I can. I try to use and apply the teachings in all areas of my life: work, school, church, family, friends, traveling, on and on.... I try to lift others and make them feel great. Sometimes I have to start over the next day. I try to never let go of the important basics that are taught- attend church, pray, serve others, be honest, read scriptures, visit the temple, forgive myself and others, pay tithing, be happy and put family first. When I was a missionary in France, I learned if my faith is a top priority in my life I will never regret it.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Kami
I'm not sure why we ever would. He was such an amazing man and I believe Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, but he was just a man. We worship where it counts. We worship God the Eternal Father. The One who gave us everything. The One true source of happiness. The One true source of power. The One who truly blesses my life. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Kami
Of course we do! I have enjoyed reading and studying the Holy Bible. There would be no 'Mormon' church without it. It is an important aspect of my faith as a christian. I believe that the Bible and Book of Mormon are a team, that together they show the world that Christ lived and that his gospel teachings are true. I have found great comfort and teachings when reading the Bible. It has blessed my life. I will always read it. I believe the Holy Bible is the word of God. Show more Show less
