Hi I'm Meghan

I'm a chemistry major, I love to read, I'm a guard girl, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19, and I'm currently going to community college to obtain a degree in chemistry. I think it's absolutely fascinating to see how chemicals interact with one another and what their different properties are. One day I'd love to become a professor and teach chem at the university level. I'm currently working three jobs and try not to stress too much. I love reading, and my favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird. I think that the theme "It's a sin to kill a mockingbird" or rather, don't hurt people who haven't done anything to you, is a theme that everyone can become better at, including myself. In high school I did marching band all four years and I was on the color guard. I spun for the University of Arizona my freshman year when I attended. I love it, and hate that I no longer have time. I also love to hang out with my friends and have a good laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because for awhile in high school I fell away a little bit. I still went to church and everything, but my heart wasn't in it, and I still did whatever I wanted, regardless of whether or not it was wrong. My cousin came home from his mission and I noticed that he was always happy. I definitely wasn't the happiest person and I soon realized he was happy because of the gospel of Christ. I quickly started putting forth more effort. I read my scriptures and prayed every night. I later started dating an RM, and on one of our first dates we went to the Mesa, AZ temple's visitor center and went through the Plan of Salvation exhibit. For the first time in my life I felt like I was in the right place at the right time. It really hit me that what I really wanted out of life was to be married and sealed in the temple for time and all eternity, so my family could be together forever. Since I've felt this and tried much harder in my life, I've strengthened my testimony in the Lord Jesus Christ. I have felt his power and love for me. I now notice the tender mercies in my life that are granted to me, such as making it to my job on time when I'm running late. I've realized how much happier I am when I live my life in accordance with Him and do His will. Everything runs more smoothly. I have also felt his strength uplift me when I am weak. I have learned that all I have to do is ask, and I will receive strength when I feel I have none left. I love the gospel, and I love the Lord.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward by fulfilling my calling as the dinner group chairman. I help coordinate dinners one Sunday a month for people to go to and meet people and have fun. I also participate in class to help the discussion aspect of te lesson so that we can all learn from one another.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Meghan
The purpose of life is to be happy, for "men are that they might have joy" (2 Nephi 2:27). True happiness, however, only comes from living your life in such a way that you can return to your Heavenly Father and live with Him for eternity. Show more Show less
