Hi I'm Janet

I'm a Mormon and a mother of 4 wonderful boys!

About Me

I was blessed to be born into a big family that loved me and loved the Lord. Education was important. I went to college, became a teacher. Got married. Taught for 8 years. We adopted our first son and I decided to be a stay at home mom. That was the best decision ever! I have loved being at home with my 4 boys. I have never quit being a teacher. I love to teach. It's even more fun to teach at school as a volunteer, at church, at scouts, and at home. We even tried home school for a couple years. That was an amazing experience. I love to sing, travel, garden, learn new things and then share those new things with others. I love to read, and visit with family. I love being in the great outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because living its principles is the only way a person can find peace in this life and in the life to come. I have always been a Mormon but through my experience in schools and through service in the communities I have lived in I have seen so much heartache, loneliness and confusion in the lives of so many wonderful people. That is why I am creating this profile. To help those wonderful people to know what I know. The heartaches that have come into my life have come when loved ones have stepped away for the things they know to be true. I know that we have a Father in Heaven who loves us and knows us by name. He has perfect happiness and his plan is for us to learn in this life what we need to know so that we can go back to live with him someday and have that same perfect happiness. Life isn'nt meant to be easy. I love that story about the sailboat that gets nowhere when the seas are calm. There has to be turbulence to make progress, to enjoy the ride. Living the principles taught by our Savior and living as He did, by following His example, that's how to find peace and joy. Look around you and you will see those who are truly happy are those who love and serve as Jesus did.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? I try to share what I know with others. One summer as a teenager I worked in a summer parks and rec program. I worked with kids much different than I had grown up with. My goal was to learn to love each of those children before the summer was over. There was one shy little snotty nosed boy with rough, chapped, dirty hands that wanted to hold my hand wherever we went. The first time he put his hand in mine I cringed inside, but soon I could see what our love and attention did for that sweet young thing and for all the kids at that park. I have tried ever since to see the good in each person I meet and to see what the Lord would see in them.
