Hi I'm Ned

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Ogden and for the past 32 years I've lived in Nevada. Yes there are Mormons in Nevada.

About Me

I'm a dad and have a wonderful wife and four amazing boys. We love to hunt and fish and ride ATV's in the desert and mountains. I have worked as a school teacher for the past 31 years and have recently retired. I love working with young people. I have been involved in the Boy Scouts of America for a very long time. We love to camp and enjoy sitting around the campfire and just visiting. We love to garden and on occasion we have a great harvest. It is so fun to watch the things we plant grow until we can harvest them. My wife bottles our harvest and we enjoy creating fun and adventurous dinners.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel has always been part of my life but on an occasion I have not always allowed the gospel to be as strong a part of my life as it should have been. As a young man in high school I was on a crash course with self-centeredness. I had a church teacher one day stop me and look me in the eye and said who do you think you are? He had the courage to shake me just enough to make me take a look at my selfish behavior. It was that day that I started to understand that it was not about me. I allowed myself to look to Jesus Christ and recognize him and his sacrifice. The teacher was right it is not about me it's about everyone else but me. And when I realized that, I finally found out who I was. I will always be indebted to that wonderful man for helping understand we must lose our life for others to find the true path of Jesus Christ and His Gospel. Since that day it has been a wonderful journey as I served my Savior Jesus Christ as a missionary for two years and then was lead to a faithful young lady who agreed to take me under her wing and continue to knock of the rough edges. After 36 years I'm beginning to take shape and someday hope to be a useful servant for Heavenly Father to use in the building of his kingdom. We now serve together as a Senior Couple and love the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

After serving a mission for two year in the eastern states I returned home and married way above myself. I graduated from college and moved to southern Nevada. I have been working with young men in the scouting program for many years. I have been a leader of a congregation of about 500 people. It was a wonderful opportunity to work, pray, and assist them in the challenges of life. We have been called to serve a full-time mission in Ukraine, Kyiv mission from Feb. 2015-Aug. 2016. We are excited to learn the Russian & Ukrainian language.
