Hi I'm Liz

I'm a sassy, classy lady and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As I write this, I'm sitting in the dark corner of a local Starbucks, feeling a little contradictory. I'm not drinking anything, mind you! I'm here for the wifi, which is free with or without purchase, thank goodness. It's not something I'm a stranger to, it's just that before I was doing it to Fight the System, and now I'm doing it because I'm writing a mormy profile about myself and hot drinks are bad. I'll get to the point by saying that I'm a Floridian by my address, but an Oregonian at heart. My entire family lives out west, with the exception being myself, my son, and my parents. My mother is a fantastic news anchor with a passion for horses, and her husband is some fancy political type. I love them dearly, but nothing can compare to the love I have for my deliciously spunky little son, Sebastian. I'm a hair stylist, a writer, an amateur philanthropist, an appreciator of food in general, and a Momma. My life is spectacular, but I wasn't always so certain of myself. Growing up, I felt that somebody had chewed up my soul and spit out the fragments, like glitter, and I was constantly searching for the shards of myself that I had lost, or just hadn't found yet. Through plenty of crazy experiences, I really did find bits of myself, in two friends who taught me that God does have a sense of humor, in my son who taught me to love myself, and in the Gospel. I am so blessed, and I want to make everybody as happy as I am!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Ghost so many times. Although I was not raised in the church, I really feel as if I've been a part of it my entire life. A huge part of my personal testimony is how truly and completely the teaching of the Pre-Earth life makes sense to me. I have met a couple people who have touched my heart and soul so deeply and instantaneously, that the idea of us knowing each other when we were with Heavenly Father is the only explanation. Through the church, I have felt true friendship, true love, and true peace that can only come from the fullness of the Gospel. I know in my heart that the Book of Mormon is true, and that we have a living prophet on the Earth today. I have discovered so much about myself and what I want since being baptized. I can't wait to get married in the temple, and raise a big happy family centered around love and Heavenly Father!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live the Gospel in my everyday life. I strive to be kind and classy to everybody that I encounter throughout the day, so that I can be a good respresentation of the LDS church. I also believe that by being a good momma, I'm living the teachings of Jesus Christ. By going to church, praying, and reading the scriptures regularly, I try every day to become a better Mormon. I want to show how grateful I am for all the amazing blessings I have in my life, so I'm constantly trying to make my Eternal Father proud of me. Also, sometimes I bake goodies for the amazing missionaries that work so hard to bring stubborn sillies like myself back to the Lord.
