Hi I'm Garrett Jefferies

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello there! I am currently serving a full-time Mission in Finland. Before my mission, I worked at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii, dancing Hula. I love to dance and I love to play music. After coming back home to Virginia from attending college at Brigham Young University-Hawaii, I spent a lot of time recording my own compositions on the guitar and the piano. I also love nature and the outdoors, doing activities such as backpacking, biking, swimming, among other things. I love my family, they are the most important thing to me. There are 7 people in my family, including myself. My dad, my mom, one older sister serving a mission in Anaheim, California, and 3 younger sisters. Then there's my fun dog, Ralphie.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the testifying power of the Holy Ghost which reveals the truth of all things (Moroni 10: 3-5). I grew up in the church, but it wasn't until reading the Book of Mormon for myself that I really felt the power of the Holy Ghost in my life. The feeling is wonderful, I feel peace and happiness everytime I read, almost as if I was "at home." I feel my savior's love when I keep the commandments and choose to obey him. Having a testimony for myself is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The great thing about being a full-time missionary is you have the opportunity to focus all of your efforts on other people all day, everyday. It is the goal of every missionary to follow the savior's example as he had endless charity towards all. Our purpose as missionaries is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, Repentence, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. "Charity never faileth" (Moroni 7:46-47). It is my goal as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to become truly converted to the gospel and follow the chief exemplar, our savior Jesus Christ.
