Hi I'm Leslie

I'm a nurse. I love hiking. I enjoy film, theatre and music. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a nurse. I rescue and adopt shelter dogs. I am a jack of all trades and master of none. I can tune up my car and get down and dirty taking a sink apart. I've practiced ice skating, rodeo, took piano lessons, taught myself to play the guitar, and more. I am in love with Broadway musicals, Disney movies and Frank Sinatra music. A few of my favorite things are long car rides, walking my dog, reading a good book, and cooking. I also enjoy hiking and camping as often as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts. My dad was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by his paper boy and friend in scouts as a young teenager, while my mom was a travelling army brat that met the missionaries and brought this gospel around the world as she moved. Although I grew up with my parents in this church we are still very new as a family to the doctrines and workings of this church. I have been given the opportunity over the years by my parents and many friends to learn about all different kinds of faith. I have studied every kind of religion rather extensively in high school and college. I have been so impressed by how much all our faiths have in common. These common teachings are assurance to me that everyone in some way or another believes as I do that there is a higher power at work in our lives. After learning all that I have, I have come to choose for myself to be a Mormon and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is true. I have never been a person to have great lightning bolts of revelation, but I have simply felt good about my decision to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That good feeling and the strength I receive from my Heavenly Father is all I need.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading my scriptures daily, going to church every sunday, and praying to my Heavenly Father almost constantly, whether on my knees or in my heart. I appreciate all kinds of people and their individual talents, and acknowledge that these gifts all come from God. I believe that spending time with, and serving God's children should be an uplifting experience. I also find that I feel close to my faith when I spend time appreciating the Lord's beautiful earth that He has created.
