Hi I'm Brittany

I'm a college student, a inspiring cake decorator, a lover of sports and the outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well a little about me! My name is Brittany and I am a collage student just trying to get through homework, test, and finals like many many others out there. I have 7 siblings, 5 brothers and 2 sisters who I love so very much, let me just say that there is very rarely a quiet moment at my house, so it was a little weird to move out and have a quiet apartment. I love getting to spend time with my family whenever possible since i'm not home all the time, I think moving out has really made me love and appreciate them so much more. I love just about anything that has to do with the outdoors and especially the beautiful mountains. I love backpacking with my dad and brothers, spending hours down by the river catching fish, and sleeping under the infinite number of stars. I also am a big fan of sports I love snowboarding on fresh powder, shooting hoops, or playing football. I guess all this make sense seeing that I do have 5 brothers. However, I also love to cook! My weakness is anything sweet, I would love one day to own my very own cake decorating shop. It is just such a fun thing to do and I love creating edible masterpieces! I also just found another thing that I truly love in a class I took because my friend wanted me to, ceramics. It was the best class that I have ever taken and I'm pretty sure I spent more time doing homework in that class than in any of my other classes combine. There you go I hope that helps you know a little about me!

Why I am a Mormon

What an amazing question to ask, Why am I a Mormon? Well I have grown up my whole life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints but that is certainly not why I have remained faithful to this church. Everyone whether they have been a member their whole lives or just recently joined the church must be truly converted. The reason that I am Mormon is because it gives me true joy in my life. The knowledge that I have learned through the teachings of the gospel have shown me that many of the thing that are popular in the world today may provide a short term happiness but not eternal joy. I also love the temple and the blessing that come through the ordinances made in the temple. Because of the temple I am able to be sealed to my parents and seven sibling for time and all eternity, and when I find that man that I am to marry I know that I will be able to be sealed to him for eternity. Just knowing that makes everything worth it. There are countless other reasons that I am a mormon each time I attend church, read my scriptures, pray, or attend the temple I receive a personal witness that my Heavenly Father is proud of me and will also be by my side, knowing that no matter what trial I go through, no matter what decision I make in my life I will always have God as my companion and my testimony and my rock. I'm a Mormon because I know without a doubt in my heart that the church is true!

How I live my faith

I believe that just as it says in the scriptures that "faith without works is dead" (James 2:20) so I try each day to live my life so that it reflects who I am as a daughter of God and a member of the church. Each day I try and better myself and increase my testimony and faith by reading from the pages of the Book of Mormon and the Bible as I read I relate the things taught in these books to my life and ways that I can improve myself. I also pray to my Heavenly Father and truly talk to him because he loves me with a perfect love and wants to know about my trials and triumphs. I try to be a good example to those around me by dressing modestly and not swearing or using profane language. I look for people I can help and serve and try and always have a smile on my face. I also attend church and institute so that I can gain more knowledge of the gospel. I except each calling or assignment I am given by my church leaders and fulfill them to the best of my ability. All of these things help me live a life that my Heavenly Father is proud of me for. I believe that the best way to live my faith is by loving all those who surround me and try and build them up and help them know that they are loved not only by me but by God.
