Hi I'm Edward

I live in Utah and plan to study materials engineering after serving a mission. I'm a college Junior and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, but have since lived in Idaho and the great state of Texas before returning to Utah. I'll be serving in the Santa Rosa, California mission for two years. I enjoy sleeping in, reading fantasy/sci-fi novels, and SCUBA diving - none of which will be possible until I finish my mission. I spend a lot of time with my six siblings, and I'm beginning to miss them already. I'm looking forward to sharing the gospel in California, and I'm willing to sacrifice my little wants for the big picture.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is ancestrally LDS, with a rich pioneer heritage. From a young age my parents taught me the gospel and helped me gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon. My grandparents have always been around to support and confirm their teachings, with many stories of the past. My family has given me a very sure foundation to base my own testimony. As I grow older, I've come to see the strength of the gospel and its truth. I enjoy reading the Book of Mormon, particularly the words of Alma.

How I live my faith

I'm serving a mission for the LDS church, where I will invite all to come to Christ. This means giving my time, talents, and energy completely to the work. I don't know how successful I'll be, but I know the Lord will help the work along.

What is being a Mormon like?

Edward
Off the top of my head, the main focus of being a Mormon is family. My parents, siblings, and extended family are an integral part of my life. I should note that I have Any of our family gatherings - from massive family reunions to weekly "home evenings" - involve a spiritual and prayerful aspect. Show more Show less
