Hi I'm Anne Smart

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Hurricane Utah...I am a full time Kindergarten teacher and I love being a member of this church!

About Me

I am a full day kindergarten teacher at a local Charter school. I love teaching children and have always known I wanted to be a teacher. My students are one of the greatest blessings in my life. I love to read and am often found curled up with a book. In the past 8 years I have begun writing stories/ novels of my own. I am currently trying to publish my first novel. We will see if I find the time. I love spending time in nature feeling closer to my Savior. I love the mountains and the ocean. I received my teaching degree from Ricks College (Now BYU Idaho), BYU- Hawaii, and lastly SUU. My experience in Hawaii was comparable to my Mission to Oregon. I love the people of Oahu as I do the People of Oregon. Both experiences changed my life. I am so grateful for all of the people and lives that helped me become who I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love knowing God has a plan for each of us. That we are not here by happenstance. We have a purpose and we are needed to help others come unto Christ. In my life I have suffered many trials but I have been blessed to be "Stretched by a loving God." Stretched by one who knows me by name and can help me in ways no one else can. I have applied the atonement in my life and felt a personal connection to my Savior. The greatest blessings of my life have come from sharing the gospel with others. I love being a missionary. I love sharing and answering questions about what I believe. You may ask how I became a member? I had a testimony from a young age...but I had to discover for myself the truths. I had to ask the Lord if it was true so I could share it with others. Living the gospel has brought such happiness and peace. I couldn't have survived the death of my Father without it. I know it is true and if I could I would encourage everyone to find out for yourself if these things are true. People can tell you and encourage you that it is, but until you pray about it and study it out in your own mind you won't have a sure knowledge. This sure knowledge brings a peace and a joy that is priceless. It will bring you closer to God. Study the book of Mormon and ask he will answer you.

How I live my faith

Living the gospel is a day to day affair. Some days I am better at it than others. The most important thing I can do is do my best each day. I do this by examplifying my Savior in all I do. How? Stand up for what I believe by not participating in, watching, or sharing in anything that degrades the beliefs I carry. Such as no sex before marriage, taking the Lords name in vain, etc. I also serve as the Gospel Principles Teacher in my Ward. Each week I get to teach the basics of the gospel and share my testimony. It strengths my testimony and helps me ponder daily what I believe. I visit Ladies in our relief society who bless and help me. I also continue with my own scripture studies and prayer. I can promise all of you that by reading the scriptures daily I am protected and guided to share the gospel daily. I am able to ward off temptations and even emotional outbursts. I say emotional outburst such as frustration, angry feelings, etc. Teaching small children it is important to me to keep a level and fair head. My studies of the scriptures keep me feeling patient, calm, and better able to hear and feel the spirit of the Lord. I am better able to serve others....teach my students and feel the Love and peace of God. I am so grateful to be a member of this church.
