Hi I'm Wendy

I grew up in Utah. I teach Family and Consumer Science in the high school and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I am a high school teacher. I graduated from Snow College and then Brigham Young University. Before going to college I went to cosmetology school while I was still in high school. I did this so I could pay for college. While in college I had an amazing group of friends who started going on a mission. I didn't think that was something I wanted to do but the Lord had something different in mind for me. Through many tender mercies I was able to serve a full-time mission where for 18 months I was able to be a witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ which I know to be true with all my heart. That decision to serve a mission didn't come without a lot of trials and struggles. Right after I got my call my mom suffered from a brain aneurysm. For several weeks we didn't know what the outcome would be. I knew that I still needed to go on a mission and because of the decision I made my mom was able to be there with me every step of the way. The Lord continually pours out many tender mercies in my life each and every day. I couldn't imagine my life without the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who was active in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. But I didn't fully gain my own testimony until I was about 14. One day I had a friend who was not a member ask me how I knew the church was true. I looked at her and told her because of my parents but that didn't impress her. That night in the still of the night, I knelt down at the side of my bed and pleaded with my Father in Heaven to know if the church was true. It didn't come in a huge answer but in the peace of knowing it was true and that I have always known it was true. I was able to tell my friend of the testimony I have and the Spirit was so strong. I knew that I couldn't deny the truth.

How I live my faith

Ever since I gained my own testimony I have wanted to share the gospel with every one I came in contact with, although I have a great fear of talking to people. Many times I hope to share my testimony by example. When I went on my mission I realized how blessed I am to have the gospel in my life and from then on I have wanted to share by more than just example. I have had many opportunities to serve in the church which have all helped to strengthen my testimony. I have helped to organize several girl's camps. I have taught the women in the church as well as the children in the church. Currently I am over compassionate service where we help to serve the women of the church.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Wendy
As a missionary, I know that when we went to homes we wanted to share a special message about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We tried to get to know the person whose home we were at and then share a message with them that would relate to their life. Many times we talked about the importance of family and then other times it was the plan of salvation. We love to share our testimony with you and allow you to feel the spirit because that is the true teacher. Mostly we want you to see there is true happiness and peace in this chaotic and confusing world. Show more Show less
