Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in Alberta, Canada. I am a nursing student. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the seventh of eight children. I love my family, and they are by far the most important people in my life. When I was just little, my mom put me in piano lessons. I have been playing the piano and organ ever since. I love to play sports, and played on both my high school basketball and volleyball teams. I have always loved to help people, and so as a result, I am now going to school to become a nurse at Brigham Young University so I can fulfill my lifelong dream of being someone who makes a difference in the world. I love life, and am so grateful to be alive.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a Mormon family, that is not the reason why I continue to be a practicing Mormon. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it brings me the greatest happiness I have ever known. The gospel teaches me that I have a loving Heavenly Father, and a Savior who prepared a way for me to be able to be forgiven of my sins. Although I am not perfect, there is hope for me as I strive to be the best person I can be. Perhaps most importantly, the gospel teaches me that families can be together forever. I love my family so much, and cannot imagine not being able to be with them forever. Through covenants made and ordinances performed in the holy temple of God, my family has become an eternal one. This is the greatest blessing that I can possibly imagine, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by striving to live in such a way that through me, others can see the love of God. I try to be kind to all those who I come in contact with, and let the light that I receive from having the gospel in my life shine through my eyes. I live my faith by participating in and serving in various callings within my church. I have played the piano for my ward choir, and the organ for sacrament meeting. I have taught four year old children lessons about the gospel. I have served as a leader among girls my age as we all strive to better understand the gospel and scriptures. I have participated in many service projects to help better the world and help those in need around me. Most of all, though, I live my faith by simply doing everything I can in order to be the best version of myself possible.
