Hi I'm Sally

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the stay-at-home mom of three boys aged 13, 11 and 9. I have taken a few college courses while they are at school for my enrichment and to set a good example for them. We love to travel around our state and discover the many beautiful places God has created for our enjoyment! I love to travel, read, listen to music, go to the movies, write a blog, and try new recipes that I find online. My husband is a 1st grade teacher and I enjoy visiting his classroom and helping out when I can. I also suffer from severe depression. With the support of my husband, doctors, and Heavenly Father I know I can get through the dark times.

Why I am a Mormon

You can't un-ring a bell. Once the toothpaste is out of the tube, you can't put it back in. When the Spirit testifies to you of the truthfulness of the Gospel, you can't go back to your old ways without feeling like something is missing, and it's here that I feel whole. Although I was born into the church, I've had to have my own conversion, to gain my own testimony of it. The thing that I hold on to, the thing that brings me the most comfort is that God loves me. He knows ME. I matter to him not only in times of sorrow, but in joy as well. He wants me to be successful and will bless me with all that He has if I give Him the chance. I have to make my will His will, and when I do that He holds nothing back. I know without a doubt that when I give my all, even when I fall short (and I will because I am a imperfect mortal), Jesus has already stepped in and made up the rest. I know that I can stand before our Father without shame or guilt, because Jesus paid for my sins. I give him the best that I have because that's what He has given to me; and Jesus, my brother, my Savior, my friend, has settled my debt so that I can live with God again.

How I live my faith

My Father is not on Earth, but in Heaven. We are not together right now, but I can talk to Him whenever I want through prayer. I pray often through the day to thank Him for many things and to ask for His guidance and help. As a family, we pray at every meal, in the morning and at night to express gratitude. We also read the scriptures to learn what His desires for us are. As a couple, my husband and I have prayer morning and night, and we also read scriptures to bring us closer to Father, which in turn strengthens our marriage. I also serve in the library at church on Sundays. There is a selection of materials (pictures, extra sets of scriptures, videos, dvds, etc.) and a copier to help the leaders and teachers with their lessons. Every month I have a group of women that I visit with a companion. We present a short spiritual thought or lesson, and find out if there are any needs in the home. If there are, we pass these on to the appropriate organization within the church so that they can be met. I enjoy this time with my sisters. It helps me to know them outside of our church meetings and gives me an opportunity to make and be better friends.
