Hi I'm Allie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to sketch, dance, cook, but most of all sleep! Currently I'm going to college to earn a degree in Geography, and hope to do something great with the knowledge I will gain.

Why I am a Mormon

My father is a convert while my mom grew up a member of the church. I've been taught since the day I was born about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost but it wasn't until I started doubting my beliefs, trying to find myself, that I realized I had my own testimony, my own faith in the gospel. I KNOW that God lives, He is an actual being with body and mind. He is my Heavenly Father, He loves and cares about me and He wants the best for me. He created us (His children) for a purpose. He has a plan for us to follow which ends in eternal happiness in His presence, a plan that is centered on the example, sacrifice, and service of Jesus Christ. If we choose to follow (yield) the teachings of Jesus Christ (the gospel) we can improve our lives and gain the blessings God wants to give us. If we do our best to change our lives (give up our old ways) according to the gospel we can become like Christ (clean and spotless) with even greater blessings which reach past this life. I also KNOW that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, thus as in ancient times, God speaks to his children through His prophets (like Abraham, Moses, and Jacob). I KNOW that Joseph Smith was called by God as a modern day prophet to restore (bring back in its entirety) the fullness of the gospel. Joseph actually saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, he was prepared, called, and ordained (given authority) by God to fulfill a specific mission. That part of his mission was to bring forth and translate an ancient record which tells of God's dealings with people who dwelt on the American Continent. This record is called The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I KNOW this book is a true testament of Jesus Christ. The current day prophet IS President Thomas S. Monson and that he leads and guides The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by the hand of God.

How I live my faith

Mormonism isn't just a passive belief but a hands on guide on how to lead a better life, thus I have had a number of opportunities to live my faith. Since growing up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I've always been a regular church goer, actively participating in and filling various minor leadership roles in my local church communities and programs. In my personal life do my best to live according to the principles of the gospel, striving to change and improve daily. I took a two year break from school to serve God by sharing His gospel with the faithful people of Texas, in doing so I gained a greater understanding of and deeper commitment to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Service is key in becoming more like the Savior!
