Hi I'm Alanna

I am a writer and a tutor, I enjoy martial arts and sleeping in, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Melbourne, and work as a tutor for high school students while I am studying professional writing and editing. I enjoy spending time with my friends, especially if that involves movies or video games, and I have spent nine years training with my local taekwondo club. I love trying new things - especially new foods - and one of my favourite things to do is to drive down deserted highways late on summer nights with the windows down and music playing loud. I am currently preparing to serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and this has brought an extra measure of peace and joy into my life that I am incredibly grateful for.

Why I am a Mormon

The Mormon church brings such joy and light into my life that I don't even know what kind of person I'd be without it. The knowledge of God's love for us and the great Plan of Happiness that He has for our lives is something that has always helped me to understand that the worth of souls is great, and that families can be together forever. Being a member of this church guides the decisions that I make, and I know that I am a happier person because of it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life as Christ instructed, to love the people I meet and to treat all with kindness and respect. At church I often teach lessons for the adults' classes, and I find that when I take time out during my week to prepare these messages my entire week becomes filled with peace and direction. I feel that taking the time to do things for God helps us to keep our lives in perspective, and to be kinder, better individuals.
