Hi I'm Shania Jensen

I'm a country girl from Idaho headed to Argentina! And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I've been called to serve the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a missionary in the Buenos Aires West Mission in Argentina. I grew up in a small town in Idaho. When I return from my mission I plan to begin my schooling to be a livestock veterinarian.

Why I am a Mormon

I am blessed to be born into a family who is apart of the church. I have grown up with it all my life, and I cannot imagine my life without it. It has given me strength in hard times. I know the church is true. It is the one church that has the fullness of the gospel on the earth. I know Jesus the Christ is our savior and brother. He loves us. I know that the Holy Ghost is here for us. He is here to help comfort, guide, and testify to us. He loves us. I know we have a father in heaven who is God. He wants us to come home to live with him again. He loves us. The commandments of God are not meant to hold us back. They are given to us to let us succeed. I know Satan wants us to think the opposite. He wants to hold us back and keep us from returning home to heaven. The Book of Mormon is the truest book on the earth. I have read it and asked Heavenly Father if it is true. I know it is. I have gained a testimony of the church. My testimony continues to be strengthened and tested from day to day. I know God is there for me. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

It's a day by day process. Everyday we have new challenges and trials that we are given to strengthen us. I turn to my Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ for help. Living this by the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints blesses me beyond measure and helps me feel closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Shania Jensen
The Word of Wisdom was revealed to Joseph Smith in the early stages of the church. God told him that we should not partake of harmful things such as tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, and illegal drugs. Some people may see this as a unfair rule that is meant to hold us back, but it is one of the most liberating commandments. We don't pay hard earned money on these addicting habits. We have a better chance of being healthy without these substances. We don't have the risk of hurting our families by these addicting things. Its simply another way God shows his love for us by protecting us from harm. Show more Show less

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Shania Jensen
The church is opposed to abortion. We do not beleive in taking the future of an unborn soul. There are rare cases such as the risk of the life of the mother. Or when the pregnancy is caused by rape and produces trauma for the mother. But even in these cases, serious consideration needs to be taken. Just think, that child could be the person who discovers the cure for cancer or alzheimers. Everyone has the right to have the chance to live. Even a cluster of cells inside a womb. If the child would be born into an unfit home, adoption services are available. Again, everyone has the right to have the chance to live. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Shania Jensen
The best way to know Mormonism is true is to find the answer for yourself. Read the Book of Mormon. Learn about what we do. Look inside yourself and ask Heavenly Father if it is true. Then listen to the sweet, comforting, and peaceful feelings of happiness. This is the Holy Ghost testifying. Show more Show less
