Hi I'm Sherri Lefler

I'm a Mormon, daughter of God, mother of 5, home school mom, ASL interpreter, & summer cheer camp director! .... I LOVE to laugh!

About Me

I was raised by deaf parents and one of my five kids is deaf. I am also a professional interpreter or the deaf. I home schooled all four of the oldest kids and only the fourth kid left! My oldest is married and my second child is serving a mission for our church. My kids and I have been involved in a competitive cheer program for the last 10 years. Not because it is my favorite sport, that would be tennis or the great game of football. Rather we are involved because one of our daughters fell in love with it and the rest of us jumped on board! I feel so blessed and lucky to have so many kids to love and share life experiences with! while we are done with the kids cheering I still run the summer cheer camp and teach kids values there. I love my Heavenly Father and all the blessings he has given me. Not long ago I faced my greatest trial; divorce. In the end it was my choice to walk away. It is the biggest reason why I teach values to kids. When you learn to love God with all your heart and then love yourself, you can see yourself as God sees you. That kind of confidence leads to healthy and beautiful relationships. I am grateful that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches such wonderful values that we can all develop at any age! I am grateful for a Savior who knows and understands my pain and still loves me. So while my life is messy, crazy, sleep ridden and overwhelming .... it is beautiful and I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager I chose many wrong paths in search of happiness. My junior year of high school I decided to look to religion for that happiness. I began to search churches as I was not happy with my experiences at the church I was raised in. My senior year my search ended with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As I studied the gospel I found it to be most like Christ's church when he was on the earth. While we as members are imperfect, the gospel is perfect and beautiful. I am a Mormon because of Gods blessings and promises of happiness and peace. That happiness and peace I have experienced countless times during my membership. No matter the trials or hardships, I have felt the love of God for me, his daughter! As I have followed his counsel I have experienced a peace that I could never find in the world, but a peace that only He can give me. When I begin to fear and feel hopeless I remember I have forgotten to drop to my knees and give him my burdens. When I do, the truly become light! How richly blessed my children and I have been!

How I live my faith

I do all I can to represent Christ and serve others with love and kindness. It is my life's goal to make sure every person, especially children and teenagers, know how special they are! At the cheer camps I run we always do a service project and I talk the kids about stepping outside themselves and giving back. We are ALL God's children and I love to try to find His light and I that I meet!
