Hi I'm Alanna

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as a military brat. My father was in the Army and we lived in Arizona several times, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Germany three times. My dad joined the church when I was 8, when he baptized me. My mom joined the church when I was 3. They have been in and out of activity, but I have always known that this church is true. The people are not perfect, but the gospel is and I love it. I am an RN and work in an emergency room. I love my job and the people I work with. I love to garden and cook and have family parties. We have three dogs, one cockatiel, a rabbit, and a hamster (yes, we love animals). I love to ski (though nothing extreme) and spend time outdoors in nature. It is where I feel closest and most appreciative of the Lord's blessings in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon has blessed me with the knowledge and truth I have so desperately needed throughout my life to keep me close to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It has blessed my life and the lives of my children. It helped me to find a companion who has been loving, faithful, and loyal to me. I love him and the way he puts our family first. I grew up with my parents and family in and out of activity and have lived without the gospel and with it. I have chosen, since I was 17, to be active in the church, and to make choices in my life that would please my savior, Jesus Christ. I am definitely not perfect, and have made many mistakes, but it makes me appreciate the principle of repentance and the importance of the gift that the savior gave to me and all of us.

How I live my faith

I have served in many different jobs in the church. All of the jobs have taught me something new about myself and others and I have been blessed as I serve. Currently, I am the young women's assistant camp director. It is a little scary as I have never held this calling before, but I know it will be fun and I will learn as much from this calling as I have from others.
