Hi I'm Jim

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Ohio, served in the marine Corps, and worked as a firefighter/paramedic for 25 years.

About Me

I am a history buff, and deeply invilved in genealogy and Family History. After retiring from the Middletown fire Department in 1999, I took a part-time job as a courier for a local bank. It wasn't long before I was managing the Messenger and Mail Departments. I retired from the bank in 2008, and now am enjoying my grandson.

Why I am a Mormon

I had several contacts with Mormons prior to joining the Church. I was always impressed with them. The story of the restoration was very inspiring as was the doctrine of salvation for the dead (why punish someone because they lived in a time when the gospel was not available to them).

How I live my faith

I serve as First Assistant in our High Priest Group leadership. Additionally, I am our ward's Family History Consultant. I teach a Sunday School class, and often substitute teach our young adults. I try to live what I teach, and do good to all.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

The Church helps people throughout the world, regardless of their faith. They respond to natural disasters, and they also help by teaching individuals and families how to help themselves. Show more Show less
