Hi I'm Jared Monasmith

Im a Junior in High School, shooting for the military life, currently in the Civil Air Patrol, And I'm A Mormon.

About Me

Im a regular high school kid, I enjoy hanging out with friends and i enjoy nature. I have five siblings (2 older and 3 younger) and i am the oldest living at home. Im part of the Civil Air Patrol which is the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. I love the program and i am always working on improving in it. I also have played trombone for five years and hope to pursue it until the end of high school. My dream has always been to fly helicopters for the Coast Guard and I am constantly working on achieving it. I love camping because of the chance it gives me to be "one" with nature. I also love hiking, especially mountains because it gives me a chance to achieve new heights, literally.

Why I am a Mormon

The church has always been around me. I know many people that have these amazing conversion stories but for me I was born into the church. Fortunately for me my family moved from Utah to Medford, Oregon where my stake center is on the same property as the Medford Temple. But just because i have that doesn't mean i don't have the same problems as the kid next door (figuratively speaking). I have made my mistakes by making the wrong friends, not taking care of addictions and by not being around the most supportive people. But like many my age i am working on these problems. for starters i have started to read the Book of Mormon for the first time. You may be asking yourself "wait this kid has been Mormon all his life and he has not read the Book of Mormon?" yes i understand that fully, i have even asked myself that. But just because i haven't read it does NOT mean i don't believe its true. The Book of Mormon is one of the most powerful and rich books I have ever read, even if I have not finished it. I know the church is true and i know that the Book of Mormon is true. and with that I leave you my short testimony that i testify of the truth of all the wonderful things the church teaches, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I chose to live my faith by attending Seminary, Mutual, Church Meetings and all available chances i have to help those in my ward, stake, and community. One of my favorite things to do as a youth is attend dances with my friends and going to activities that have a loving spiritual environment where i feel separate from all the worldly temptations that surround me.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Jared Monasmith
Some believe that a testimony is how much one believes in the church. But for others A testimony is a one word answer to say where ones faith lies in God the eternal Father. Show more Show less
