Hi I'm Mariah D.

I love snow, lady bugs, and sprinkles! I've got a college degree, and got married, but most importantly I'm happy being Mormon.

About Me

My whole life living in Utah, I was taught to ski at age 6, because of that I love the snow and I love playing in the snow. I could not live with out the change of seasons we experience here, because in the Summer I love the sun and water just as much. I earned my degree in Recreation, because I always want to be outside. Plus I love working with people and providing them positive experiences. Most recently I am learning how to balance life, and be a good wife and support my husband in his endeavors as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I spent the majority of my life trying to decided what fit me best, what was really true. My mom and dad had opposite views of religion and especially the LDS church. However by all accounts I was raised LDS. When I started dating and fell in "love" with a boy in high school, I pretty much had life figured out. However, that would not work well, cause all sorts of trouble for our families and ourselves. He and I were together for 4 years, our future seemed to be set for us. Until one day, I decided I wasn't happy and I ended the relationship. It took more will power than I had exercised in years to break it off. However I wanted to return to the church, with out feeling like a hypocrite. I wanted to live the life that I had only really talked about living before. I started going to church and working through a repentance progress. I finally was able to receive a temple recommend and use it a hear and a half after that. I made a new friend, a best friend who would eventually ask me to marry him. He never ever asked me to do anything that went against my better judgement or broke a promise to me. His good example and true care for me in a hard time is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Now I go to the temple with my husband on a monthly basis, and I love it there. I try to visit my neighbors and friends to make sure they know we love them. We enjoy reading our scripture and saying prayers together. I make the the bulletin for our Sunday program each week, it is small but so much appreciated by the members of our ward. Much like visiting teaching can be small and simple but bring great blessings.
