Hi I'm Cullen Watkins

I'm from South Carolina. I'm an Eagle Scout. I'm going on a mission to Japan. I like camping and photography. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy photography and going camping. I love being with my friends and family. I love being a Boy Scout too. I'm a huge fan of tokusatsu, Power Rangers, Star Wars, and Doctor Who. I am a student at Coastal Carolina University mayjoring in History. I will be serving as a Missionary in Nagoya Japan starting in December! I was also home schooled.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is the one true savior. I have read the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants and I know that they are true, it gives me great joy whenever I read them. Same goes for our awesome prophet, Thomas Monson. Going to church every sunday, attending seminary every morning in high school, and Institute every week makes me feel so awesome! I'm always happy when I'm at church. My local 'ward' as well as a couple of other wards are like one big family to me, and in some cases that's biologically true. My grandparents, aunts, and uncles have all been in the church a long time, and have been great examples to me. I love the youth program. That's really how I met all of my best friends, and without them I don't know where I'd be. We have helped each other through the toughest of times and laughed together in the very best of times. I know that this is truly God's church. His spirit is there. He loves us all as his children. That's why I'm glad to follow Him.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in our Elder's Quorum group as a secretary. I also do a lot of things with our Young Single Adult group such as attend Institute class every week. That's where we study the gospel in more detail, it's really fun! Most of my best friends are in the Young Men's group, they are like my little brothers. I do my best to be a friend and example for them. But most exciting of all is that I have been called to serve in the Japan Nagoya Mission, preaching the gospel for 2 whole years! I love Japan and I am honored to share this great message of Christ with them. I also like to go teaching with my local missionaries whenever I can. It's fun and it helps me prepare for my mission, they have all become good friends of mine.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Cullen Watkins
The Lord's law concerning sex. Heavenly Father has given us a great power; the power to create life. It is a sacred power and with it comes responsibility. The Lord has told us that the powers of procreation are only to be employed between a lawfully wedded husband and a wife. It is not to be used to fullfill selfish desires. In fact, in the Lord's sight, sexual sin is the 3rd worst sin next to murder and denying the Holy Ghost. That is why he has given us the Law of Chastity, to keep us free of sin as well as the unfortunate consequnces which come from sexual sins. We believe that we can achieve long-term happiness by keeping ourselves sexually pure. By doing so we keep our families strong, and we keep ourselves strong as well. We must not do anything to arouse sexual feelings, this includes not touching the sacred, private parts of the human body, and staying away from pornography like the pleague. The Lord has commanded us to procreate and multiply and replenish the earth, but only within the sacred bond of marrage between husband and wife. Show more Show less
