Hi I'm Amy

I'm a daughter, friend, missionary, athlete, and I love life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family and spending time with them. I love sports! Soccer, lacrosse, skiing, swimming, volleyball, just about anything. I also love the outdoors and I feel so much peace when i'm outside in nature. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint and am now serving as a full time missionary! I am a convert to the church and I have never experienced so much joy and had so much hope!

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the Church the beginning of my senior year of high school. A few months later I received a Strength of Youth pamphlet containing the standards. As I began reading I started to apply these principles into my life. I could see and feel a difference. I was asked if I would be willing to meet with the missionaries, I agreed. As I met with them I wasn't very interested, but they did two very important things for me. They taught me how to pray and they gave me a Book of Mormon. As I started my first year of college I wanted to keep the happiness I had gained by following the Strength of Youth but I knew it would be difficult. Then I remembered what the missionaries had taught me! I had never prayed in my life but I needed extra strength and I knew it couldn't hurt. As I began to pray I felt so much comfort. During this year there came a point that I needed to know for myself if what I was doing right and if the Church was true. I began to pray for my answer. For a few months I felt like I wasn't receiving an answer, yes or no, and I was very confused and disappointed. One day a sister missionary called me. She called to see if I had any questions about the church or if she could help me with anything. I explained to her that I had started to pray, but I wasn't receiving an answer and I wasn't willing to join the church without getting an answer. She listened to me, she answered my questions and told me what she knew to be true and at the end she invited me to meet with the missionaries. I agreed to meet with them once again. I really listened to what they had to say and I began to pray about that. One day I was thinking about everything I had been learning. It sounded so perfect but I still wasn't receiving an answer. As I thought about this this absolutely wonderful feeling came to me. Everything that I had been doing and learning made since. I knew at that moment that God had answered my prayers and I knew that being baptized was the right thing.

How I live my faith

I think one of the best ways I can live my faith is by striving to be an example of Jesus Christ and sharing the joy that I have been given. When we love and serve others they will be able to feel Heavenly Fathers love and it will help us come closer to Him as well. Everyone deserves to know that God and Jesus Christ love them. I know that when you ask in prayer with a sincere heart, willing to act upon what ever answer you receive, God will answer you.
