Hi I'm Ben

I was born in Brooklyn. I love to have fun. I currently attend BYU, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a missionary in the California Long Beach mission. I have decided to share the gospel of Jesus Christ for 2 years of my life. Besides that I love basketball, basically all other sports, and just having a fun time. I have always thought that if something isn't fun, I might as well make it fun. I am going to BYU after my mission is over. I grew up in New Jersey, and that was a lot of fun. I have a passion for life, and try to live every day to it's fullest.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I was 8 years old, I wanted to get baptized because that is what everyone expected of me (including my Heavenly Father). Did I know exactly what I was doing? No. Did I kind of know what was going on? Yes. Was it the best decision of my life? Absolutely. Doing so has shaped the rest of my life. Growing up in this church has given me moral courage and helped keep my life clean. I was hardly even tempted to drink, or smoke or do drugs in high school. Now that I am on a mission I have come to more fully realize how important this gospel is and how much everyone can benefit from it. So now I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus is the Christ and I know this in part from reading the Book of Mormon, and listening to the revelation of modern prophets. I know this is what God wants me to do, and so this is what I am going to do.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a full time missionary in the California Long Beach Mission. It is all volunteer non-paid work. As a full time missionary I go around sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone I meet. Sometimes people get offended, but sometimes people listen to us, and it changes their lives and they feel and see all the blessings in store for them. I have seen the Lord's hand in this work and I know that he guides me every day. I am so grateful for this privelage in my life.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Each missionary is in charge of providing their own funds. If they can't afford to put 2 years on hold, and are having a tough time saving money, the local congregations will help them out so that everyone can have the opportunity to have the great opportunity of being a missionary.
