Hi I'm Isaac

I'm a student who loves to eat salads, take naps, travel and get massages (and not always in that order). And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a super busy college student and love learning about different cultures and languages. So far, I've been lucky enough to travel to Central America, Polynesia, and Europe. I speak English, Spanish, French and am learning ASL. When I find some free time I like to watch movies (especially documentaries), go hiking with friends or family, garden, volunteer and always take lots of pictures. I look forward to going to church every Sunday. Church is a place where I can learn more about my Savior, share my faith with others, and grow closer to God.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves me. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is where I feel at peace. It's also the only church I know of with a modern day prophet (like Moses or Noah). As I study the teachings of the prophets I find peace and direction for my life which helps strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ which is the most important thing I have. Being a Mormon isn't easy, but I know it's what's best for me. Ultimately, I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following Christ's example of service to others. I volunteer in my community with an organization that helps refugees from other countries establish a new happy life in America and become citizens. I help run an after-school gardening program for school children and share plants and seeds with my friends and neighbors. I visit sick people and their families in the hospital and help out at the food bank warehouse. I also tutor and mentor struggling students so they don't give up. Everything I do is so rewarding, I love it! That's how I live my faith.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Isaac
The temple is a very sacred place for Church members where we can learn eternal truths and perform important ordinances like eternal marriages or baptisms on behalf of those who have died without the opportunity to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Before being considered worthy to enter the temple, I had to be living a life in harmony with Christ's teachings. Church members who are still struggling with keeping commandments or are not fully prepared don't enter the temple in order to maintain its sanctity. Nothing "top-secret" goes on inside of temples but we don't openly discuss certain details which we consider extremely holy and personal. Show more Show less
