Hi I'm Elizabeth

I am a student, poet, artist, scientist, singer, theater techie and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest out of 7 children. You can say our family is sort of like the Brady Brunch. I was very blessed to be raised in active LDS family. My favorite animal is the giraffe and my favorite color is yellow. I love theater with half of my heart. I have met some of my best friends from Drama. The other half of my heart belongs to my love for science. Before I went to school here at BYU-Hawaii, I worked at The Pacific Science Center in Seattle, and have grown to love teaching children and adults about butterflies, sea anemones, and bubbles. Here at BYU-Hawaii my major is Marine Biology and I write a postcard everyday. Don't get me wrong--I still sing in the shower, and I am an accomplished Master Spoken Word Poet.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in high school, I wondered what everything meant. I questioned many things. I frequently searched the scriptures and prayed earnestly hoping to find some answer--to have some giant revelation. However, one day while I was pondering--it clicked. I understood. I knew without a doubt. Everything made sense. It was as if i flipped a switch somewhere and the light bulb started to glow. I don't quite understand why or how--but I know it works. There's something very tender about having small epiphanies like that. I found for myself what I need to do. I know that for every person-the experience is different. I have been blessed that I have the desire to learn and grow and to understand the unseen. I have been led by the thoughts I know were inspired by the Holy Ghost. I have so blessed to have found what I was looking for. It's never easy. I learned that the people you meet don't come your way by coincidence. I have been so blessed to have my friends. They have given me so much. I've found that the world needs more friends. I have learned that the gospel is more than being friendly. You're eyes will be opened to a much beautiful world that will make you want to share it with others.

How I live my faith

I find it best to love. I forget about myself. I have been blessed with fantastic examples in this life. I have been aspired to become like them. I have learned from Poets, Artists, Scientists, Friends, and even strangers on the street. So many people have held their hand to me at times where I thought I was alone. And If you weren't aware, the feeling of loneliness is unbearable. To see the love being held to me, it lifted me. I want to lift others. I realize that every person has flaws and hardships and sometimes what they need most is company. Not to brag, but I give really good company.
