Hi I'm Rebekah Arnesen

I love people. I like exploring the world. I like baking and running. I want to be a nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from university with a bachelors degree in exercise science. I am fascinated by the body and how it works. I want to be a nurse because I love helping people and I have been inspired by nurses and medical professionals that I've been able to work with. I currently work at a treatment center for girls and women who are recovering from eating disorders. I am very passionate about fighting eating disorders and mental illness. I want to help young people every where to think positively about their body, and to raise awareness about distorted body image and disordered eating. I started running five years ago and I love running half marathons! I also love yoga, weight lifting, spinning and zumba. I enjoy being outdoors- hiking, boating, camping, biking, etc. I believe that our bodies are a gift from God and that we need to take care of them. This includes being physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually healthy. I love my family! I consider my one sister and five brothers to be my best friends. I love going on road trips and seeing new places. I like making new friends and having adventures. I like music and enjoy singing jazz and folk music and playing the piano and the violin. I also love baking and cooking-- and eating! I believe life is to be enjoyed! I served a mission in the Canada Vancouver Mission for 18 months. I chose to go because the Holy Ghost impressed upon me that my service was needed. It was the greatest time of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have had the truth of the Gospel confirmed to me over and over. I have had prayers answered and blessings given to me that I did not think were possible. I am Mormon because I can't imagine a life without knowing that my family can be together forever, and that one day I can be with my husband for eternity. I am a Mormon because following counsel of leaders and prophets has brought me the most happiness. I am Mormon because I prayed to know if there was another way, and I was told that this was the way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example daily. I strive to be a living witness that Christ is there and that He loves His children. I love sharing my testimony, either in person or on the Internet. I am involved in my Ward as a member of the music council. I express my faith through music, as music is a passageway of truth. I also visit members of the Relief Society (our women's organization) monthly, giving a message and seeing if there is any way that I can help them. I live my faith by being an expression of God's love. I live my faith through my optimism and faith in the future. I love God and want all His children to know of His love for them and how they can return to Him. Because I love Him, I am serving a mission, in hopes that I can bring more of His children to know of the happiness I enjoy.
