Hi I'm Nick

I was born and raised in Northern California. I've traveled to three different continents. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I'm a single 27-year-old, and graduated from college about 4 years ago. I work now full time, but enjoy doing lots of different things in my spare time. I'm pretty outdoors-y and enjoy playing sports as well, and on any given Saturday you might find me playing soccer, football or ultimate frisbee somewhere in the East Bay Area. I like watching movies, listening to / attempting to play music on the guitar, and maybe the occasional video game or board game with friends. I also enjoy drawing and writing in my spare time. Travel has also been a big love of mine, as I've been fortunate enough to have had opportunities to travel to Asia and Europe, but I also love a good road trip as well. So I guess you could say that my interests are really all over the place!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because having the gospel and being active in the church makes my life better. The truths I continue to learn and the hope that those truths bring, has helped me through difficult times, and made the good times even better. It's true that being an active member of the church, there are some activities that we are counseled to avoid, such as drugs, alcohol, and to be chaste before marriage, as well as paying a 10% tithe on our income. But the benefits of keeping these commandments have actually been a blessing in my life, much to my own surprise! I joined the church in 2009, and while I was enthusiastic, I didn't completely understand the reasons for some of the rules that I would be expected to follow to remain in good standing. However, as I have had faith and done my best to keep the commandments, I have seen that these "rules" are actually loving guidance designed to help bless my life, and they have done exactly that!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in a number of ways. By trying to better emulate Christ and becoming a better person. By searching and studying the scriptures, (the Book of Mormon, the Bible, Doctrine & Covenants, etc.,) and applying them to my life. By attending church meetings and being active in my church callings, (such as ward clerk, and home teacher.) By trying to find ways to serve others, especially those around me. And by attending the temple, and performing ordinances for those who have already passed on.
