Hi I'm Drew Dubois

I'm a Friend, I'm a Brother, I'm always trying to be the Best me and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending Brigham Young University looking to Major in Athletic Training and work towards being a physical therapist. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the great city of Las Vegas Nevada. I couldn't be happier to be where I'm at this time in my life. I come from a family full of missionaries being the last of 5 in the family, including an older brother and an oldest sister. I love sports and always have. Football, Basketball, and Lacrosse are the top of my list but I thoroughly enjoy playing and watching all sports. Music has always had an influence in my life as well whether I am singing or simply just listening to it. A motto that I have always had is really that life is too good to not enjoy. We were all made the way we are for a reason so we might as well embrace it. The line that changed my outlook is that from my Brother. He said, "You be you but be the best you, you can be." Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because it is that in which brings peace and joy into my life. Although I was born into the church, I found myself converted after a year of trials. In the beginning of the year my father had a stroke. A couple months after that, his father passed away, and just a few after that his mother died. Our family was close to our grandparents and this was a trial but The Gospel of Jesus Christ is what brought comfort to us, especially myself. The Plan of Salvation in which we share brings hope that after this life there is more and that we can all be together again and be made perfected. So although the time may seem long until we're reunited, I know without a doubt we will be reunited forever never to be separated again. Knowing that Jesus Christ lives and we can receive guidance from here in this day is what drives me. This Church is a church of peace and joy and that is exactly what it brings to our lives. As I grew up in the Land of Many Lakes, Minnesota, I was surrounded by many people with many beliefs but the one thing they noticed of me was that I was happy and it's through this church that I was able to be happy. As I lived it and showed it in my example.

How I live my faith

The most important way that I have lived my faith is through example. I am continually striving to live this example and lift and help others through that, whether they are a member of this church or not it doesn't matter as much. I love being happy and ultimately that is the best way I have lived my faith for this is the Gospel of Happiness and Joy. This is done in simple ways just smiling or even I had the opportunity to be the religious leader of my High School Football team so I just had the simple opportunity to pray for our team before each and every game. It is by our lives, our examples that we show and live our faith. As we let our light shine we then can go on and live the advice The Apostle Paul gives us in the Bible in Romans 1:16 and Not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

Drew Dubois
Being a Mormon is great. Something about this religion that is special is that it isn't just a "Sunday Religion". With that being said it may not be the easiest thing but it is one of the most fulfilling things. We have the opportunity to serve and help others and to unite and have activities to build and strengthen relationships. I love it. This church has made me who I am today and I wouldn't change that for anything. Show more Show less
