Hi I'm Mary

I'm an artist; I'm a traveler; I'm a crafter; I'm a teacher; I'm a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Georgia and have been married to Herb for fifty-one years. We have three children, lots of wonderful grandchildren, five equally, wonderful great grandchildren. I like to spend as much time as I can with my family and friends. I enjoy painting, playing the piano, reading, quilting and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know that everything that was taught to me about the Church by the missionaries is true. It gives me comfort to know we have a prophet at the head of the Church and that he receives revelations from God. I can go anywhere in the world and attend Church services and the same principles and doctrine will be taught to the congregation. Because I'm a Mormon, I know where I came from, why I'm here, and where I'm going when this life is over.

How I live my faith

I teach an early morning Old Testament class for high school students and it's an honor to have this opportunity to share my faith, and my love for the scriptures with them each day. I also serve in the Atlanta Temple as an ordinance worker each week. In the Temple, I find peace and joy and can feel my Savior's love. I visit and fellowship a few ladies each month and they have become my good friends. In 2010-2011 my husband and I served a mission for the Church in Michigan. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and we are looking forward to going on another mission soon. It is true, that you love those you serve.
