Hi I'm Heather

I'm a Scottish Dancer, dental hygienist, and serving in the Taiwan Taichung mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from Weber State University. I have four older brothers and a younger sister. I love traveling and meeting new people. I really love the Chinese culture and curently serving a mission in the Taiwan Taichung mission. I am very active. I love hiking, running marathons, doing traitholons, and swimming. Growing up, I had a passion in Scottish ancestry and did Scottish dancing for 13 years. Family is very important to me. I spend as much time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up being Mormon, I have seen the gospel bless my life. I have a great family. They have taught me good values, and we have done many things to help build our relationship. Studying the scriptures, praying, and having activities has blessed my family. My older brothers and I have graduated from college and have continued to get higher education. A couple of them are married and starting their families. With the passing away of my mother, this gospel has brought me peace and a hope that I will be reunited with my family again after death. As my realtionship with my family has increased, so has my realationship with my Heavenly Father. I had to know for myself the truthfulness of the gospel. I have read the scriptures and prayed to know if it is true or not. God heard my prayers, and I know it is true.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am serving a mission. Before that, I had a very active social life. I love getting out of the house and hang out with friends. My friends come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of them are not Mormon; however, they have good standards in which we can enjoy a variety of clean, catchy, and fun activities. In college, most of my roommates were not Mormon. They came from a variety of countries like France, China, and Germany. I live day to day trying to be a better person and serve others. I also love being around my family and building our relationship.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

The Lord invites everyone to come to the temple! It is true that you need a recommendation for worthiness from the church leaders before entering the Lord's house. The temple is the House of the Lord. Saving ordinances, such as sealing families together forever, are done inside the temple for the living and the dead in order to return back to God. It is a way for members of the church to escape from the world and feel the Lord's spirit inside His house. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

While serving in the Taiwan Taichung mission, I was informed that my mother died due to cancer. Being in a new country, learning Chinese, and doing missionary work is very hard. I kept going, and God heard and answered my prayers. Growing up, I learned that families are together forever. I really didn't grasp the concept until my mother died. My testimony is reconfirmed that families are together forever. I will see my mother again. It is an honor to share my testimony to many people about this eternal concept. Show more Show less
