Hi I'm Ryan

I love living in the Inland Northwest. I have a beautiful wife and four wonderful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was young, my family moved often. Even though I was born in Utah, I have lived in Oklahoma, Illinois, Indiana, Washington, Missouri, and Idaho. My wife and I moved to Spokane for school in 2006 and are doing our best to settle down here. I have always enjoyed nature, so the Inland Northwest is a perfect fit for me. I enjoy hiking, swimming, camping, and pretty much anything that involves being outside with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born my parents were already active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That means I attended primary with the other children and was baptized when I turned eight years old. I enjoyed growing up in the church, especially since it gave me opportunities to meet good friends whenever we moved to a new town. My parents and siblings were always good examples to me of how to follow Christ and live His Gospel. At some point, everyone needs to find their own reasons for believing in God. They need to find their own faith. For me, that time came when I was 21 years old. For the first time I began to seriously consider whether what I had been taught were true and right. After being away from the Church for a time, I chose to return and actively participate in my Church meetings. As soon as I made that decision, my life changed for the better. I knew it was Christ's love that was welcoming me back. Everything good in my life comes from my choices to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches the true gospel of Jesus Christ, which helps me be a better husband and father.

How I live my faith

I tend to be quiet about how I live my faith. My close friends and neighbors know that I am a Mormon, since they see us go to Church every Sunday and participate in the weekly activities. However, for me, the most important demonstration of my faith happens within the walls of my home. We have family prayer every day and teach our young children to pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ. Our family has a night of gospel instruction and fun every Monday, called Family Home Evening. We teach our children from the scriptures and talk about ways that we can make right choices and follow the Savior.
