Hi I'm Preston

I'm from Dallas, Texas. I'm a Mormon. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I'm a college student attending Brigham Young University studying Business Strategy. Returned from serving 2yrs as a missionary in Seoul Korea not too long ago. Have a passion for food (yep, you might have guessed, even kimchi! I hope to start up my own restaurant someday), music, and break-dancing. Love spending time with my family and doing anything out-doors. I love helping people and I hope to travel the world someday and start up some businesses that will have a positive impact on society.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I grew up LDS, and so I've been a member my whole life. Regardless, I seem to keep finding more and more reasons everyday why I'm so glad and grateful to be Mormon. It took me a while to actually realize why I was a Mormon and honestly, that came when I had the chance to share with others what I had. Growing up I was grateful for the morals that my parents taught me. I always knew that by abiding by the commandments of God I could stay at my happiest. I could really see the great benefits of growing up the way I did when I talked with friends at school and hung out over at there houses. For some of my friends, their family life was a wreck, and I attribute that to missing the gospel teaching of Jesus Christ. In my home I always knew that my parents were there for me and loved me and I could really feel that especially because they were trying their best to follow the example of Christ. Later on when serving the people of Korea I came super close to the Lord through teaching people from the Bible and especially from the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon answered all of my questions and it answered the questions of the people I helped. From the feelings I felt and from the answers to my prayers as I shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ I knew that I was doing what God wanted me to do and and I knew that what I was teaching was true. And nothing was more satisfying than seeing the happiness come into the lives of those I taught who accepted the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I've had several different assignments or callings in serving in the church. Currently I work with the teachers the Sunday school teachers. I help them improve their teaching skills by teaching an improvement class, and also by holding a one on one interview with each of them to review what they believe their strengths and weaknesses are and discuss what they feel they want to improve on. I love serving people and in each calling I feel I learn so much more personally than what I'm able to give. God has just made it that way. In doing everything that you can to help others, He in turn blesses you so much more. I try and live my life, not just on Sunday, in a way that shows how grateful I am to God for the blessings He has given me.
