Hi I'm Jay

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 61 and have not been a member of any church for approximately 20 years. I am married, to my second wife, and I have 1 son from my first marriage.

Why I am a Mormon

I first talked with some missionaries in june of 1970. I did not follow up on that opportunity at that time. My wife and I were moving into our current apartment in March of 2011 when I saw 2 missinaries coming through our complex and I motioned them over. The rest, as they say, is history. I was baptized on 18FEB2011 and received the Holy Ghost on 19FEB2011. I received a calling to work in the Family History Center on 18MAR2011 and was ordained into the Aaronic Priesthood the same day. I chose this church because I believe it is the true Church of Jesus Christ as restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I read my scriptures and study to help me achieve what I feel is of paramount importance in this day and age; A CHRIST CENTERED LIFE!!! I believe our Prophet, currently Thomas Monson, was revealed through revelation from our Heavenly Father and that he is the person directed by our Heavenly Father to guide us, to love us, and to see that we are prepared for when the Saviour returns. This is the love, and caring, of a father. I currently feel blessed to be a member. My life is not without concerns. Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does not mean that I will be in Elysian Fields and drinking milk and honey for the rest of my life. Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints means that I have a loving extended family around me to help me through my problems and to keep me on the straight and narrow path to the Celestial Kingdom. One does not battle Satan alone. The wise person gets help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures daily. I pray often. I do the best I can to keeps the Lord's commandments. But, the most comforting thought I can give to anybody is that you will be blessed and you will have a better life. I AM NOT PERFECT, JUST FORGIVEN!!!!!!!!! I am enjoying working in the Family History Center.
