Hi I'm Tanya.

I'm a singer, a wife, a home-schoolin' mother of four, a bloom-where-you're-planted believer, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

MUSIC was the name of the game in my family. Family gatherings either centered around singing/listening to music, or gravitated there sooner-or-later. So, many of my hobbies centered on music as well: dance, piano, violin, singing... My choral-dreams came true as I participated in the Mormon Choral Organization, singing in the Tabernacle at Temple Square to a packed house, singing my testimony of the Savior. My husband's medical school plucked us out of our hometown in Arizona, and took our family of four on a 2-year excursion to Mexico! Residency has turned me into a born-again Midwesterner! I bask in these newfound seasons and everything that comes with them. I love everything homespun & "Little House On The Prairie"-like. :) I love history! I love to LEARN! I love my FAMILY! And I love to dream about my some-day life-on-the-farm...

Why I am a Mormon

Because it just makes sense! I love how the Restored Gospel can answer the tough questions in life and put everything together to make one, beautiful, peaceful, TRUE picture. I am blessed with a strong heritage in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and have seen and felt the strength and blessings that come from living the Gospel to the best of your ability and knowledge. I choose to be a member of His church because life is so much more than birth to death. There is so much more! And the fruit of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is sweet, and teaches each of us to be better, to serve, to love, ... and that we are each children of God; He WANTS us each to return to Him -- to CHOOSE to live righteously, so that we, with our families, may return to live with him ... Forever.

How I live my faith

As a homeschooling mom, I realize the depth of responsibility I shoulder. I also know that in order to raise good citizens, I must, first, teach them to recognize GOOD. Our lessons often center on scriptures or hymns, and I cherish that spark that lights their eyes as they learn to recognize truth and learn about Jesus Christ. Of course, my children couldn't get away without music in their lives, and it helps that my service in the church is currently playing piano for the children's music time. There is power in music, and I take care to make good, uplifting music a welcome part in our home and life.
