Hi I'm Emily

I'm a daughter, friend, Recreation Therapist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah! I love it there! I love the beautiful mountains and am a bit of an outdoors nut. I love doing basically anything that there is to do in the mountains, including skiing, mountain biking, and have recently gotten into fishing... I know, kind of weird. I decided to put my mountains away for 18 months and am currently enjoying the big blue skies while serving a full-time mission in the Texas, Lubbock Mission. I graduated from BYU in 2011 in Recreation Therapy, and when not on a mission get paid to go out and play with people! It's the best. I love board games, long boarding, dance parties, ugly face contests, skipping, laughing, you name it. I love life and am typically happy! Life is so fun when you are able to see the humor in it. :)

Why I am a Mormon

O man! I don't even know where to begin! I can't think of a single thing that has had the more impact on shaping who I am! My faith gives my life purpose and meaning. I know that I am a daughter of God. He is my Heavenly Father, who knows me personally and loves me. The knowledge that I am a his daughter has helped me develop respect for myself, self worth, and confidence. I know that just like any other good father he will always love me. I am definitely far from perfect. I make mistakes every day! some bigger than others... But I know through the sacrifice of my savior, Jesus Christ, I can change and be forgiven of all my mistakes, weaknesses, and imperfections. This knowledge gives me the desire to be better and to reach my full potential, and also allows me to not be afraid venture out and have new experiences. I have been able to feel and experience the feelings of peace, comfort and joy the gospel brings into my life! It's the best feeling ever! Being a member of the LDS Church makes me happy! It lifts me and inspires me! That is why I am a "Mormon".

How I live my faith

I love the phrase that "a picture can speak more than a thousand words". I try to live my faith through my example, always standing up for what i believe in and trying my best not to do anything that would make people think things contrary to gospel standards. I'm also currently serving a full-time mission for my church in the Texas Lubbock Mission (or TLM)! Just livin the dream! It's the best!
