Hi I'm Kiersten

I am best friends with my family. One day, I am going to sit down and write a novel. I love to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading and writing! That's why I'm working on a B.A. in English. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet (besides enjoy it), but I'm currently leaning toward going to grad school and getting an M.A. in Library Science. Because libraries are awesome. :) I've lived most of my life in Utah Valley. It's my home base, but I love traveling, especially outside the United States. I think every American should spend at least a few weeks living somewhere else! I've lived in Tokyo and done a study abroad in London and Scotland, and still have a lot of places on my list.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my family. I was born into and raised in a home that loved me, and to parents who taught me that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. The sense of identity and purpose that gives me is almost indescribable. Knowing that God knows who I am, and loves me even when I fall short, has been the greatest source of real joy in my life. Knowing that my family and I can be together eternally, and that nothing can take that away from us, has been the greatest source of courage. I used to think that every family was like mine, but as I have grown up, I have realized that a lot of them aren't. I know that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is what has made the difference. I know that that is why I have always felt so safe, even when the world around me is a scary place. My Heavenly Father has promised me that if I stay close to Him, I will always have this peace, and that I will live again after I die. I will be able to return to Him and live in His presence with my family forever. Seriously, what can anything really do to you, after you know that?

How I live my faith

Right now, I am living my faith by serving as a full-time missionary in the Texas Lubbock Mission. I will be in West Texas for the next 18 months, helping and serving and teaching anyone who will let me about Jesus Christ, God's plan for all of us, and the peace that knowing it can give. My job as a missionary is not to convert people to my faith, but to show them how much their Heavenly Father and their Savior love them. Being able to feel their love is what really makes the difference.
