Hi I'm Matheus Pacheco

Grew up in Brazil, served a mission in Texas, now studying Computer Science at BYU

About Me

I graduated from High School in 2010, and put college and work on hold while I serve the Lord for two years. My favorite things to do are ballroom dancing, doing Parkour with friends, or filming movies with my cousins. After my mission, I'm planning on studying Computer Science, and starting a career with Software Engineering! My inner geek loves all things technology, and creating things out of seemingly random code on a computer screen. I am a movie junkie and have a habit of quoting them! Nacho Libre makes me happy, but my favorite movie of all time has to be Lion King.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the church because I prayed about it! I grew up being taught by my parents to choose the right, and attending church actively. A year before I was expected to serve a full-time mission, I decided that I needed to know for myself the truthfulness of the Church and the Gospel. Over the next several weeks, I read the Book of Mormon, then followed the promise given in Moroni 10:3-5 and prayed about the things I had read. As I prayed about it, I received my answer through the power of the Holy Ghost, and know that the Book of Mormon truly is another testament of Jesus Christ, that Joseph Smith brought back all the truths that Jesus Christ taught when He was on the Earth himself, and most importantly, I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and that he suffered and died for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing the Gospel with all whom I come in contact with! Having been called as a full-time missionary to the Texas Lubbock Mission, I get to do that which brings more happiness than anything, bringing others the joy I've felt through Christ.
