Hi I'm Kathryn

I'm a Missionary, I love to be goofy and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the church and the fourth child of five children. Growing up, I was the only Mormon in my school, which made it difficult to make friends with others who shared or accepted my standards. I was often alone, but always had the support of my family and members of the church to keep me strong. I love to explore and take pictures with my boyfriend, who is currently serving in the London South, England Mission. I am a "Greenie" (New Missionary) serving in the Edmonton, Canada mission. I love helping others and to goof around. I like to sing and dance crazily to music... I'm just a girl, living life to the full and finding joy in the journey.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, which gave me the foundation of my testimony. I was taught through Family Home Evening and Primary the standards of the church and the way to true happiness. As i've grown, I have had experiences that have strengthened me and gave me a taste of true happiness. I am still young and make mistakes, but I know that my Heavenly Father lives and loves me nonetheless and that there is a way that I can we washed clean of the guilt and shame that comes with disobedience. I know that the church is true, that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God. I know that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me, that I have been given trials to strengthen me and help me to learn through these experiences. You are never given more than you can handle. You are never alone. Christ heals. When I felt empty, the only thing that made me full was Christ. When I felt sorrow, Christ lifted me up. When all I wanted was to be held, Christ held me. When I wanted to hold a hand, Christ extended his towards me. There is no reason to feel empty because through Christ we are made full. Stay close to Christ, for he is the way to happiness. He is the way to life. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland once said: "Bad days come to an end, Faith always triumphs, and Heavenly blessings are ALWAYS kept!" I know that this is true. All you need is to "exercise a particle of faith...even if you can no more than desire to believe..." (Alma 32:27).

How I live my faith

As a young adult, It is difficult to find the balance between fitting in with the world and having the faith to stand alone. Having been brought up in the church, I have been taught about Jesus Christ and my purpose here on earth from a young age. There came a time when I had to find out whether this was true or not. I decided to act on what I was taught and pray to God to know is this was true. I received an answer through the thoughts and feeling in my heart. This knowledge alone does not mean that I will return to live with my Heavenly Father and with my family. I chose to exercise and live my faith to the full by trying to follow the example of my Saviour and keeping my life in line with the standards of the church - Such as the "For Strength of Youth" pamphlet. Once I understood the reasons behind many of our "rules", it was no longer a sacrifice, but a blessing.
