Hi I'm Jade Wetherill

I'm a wife, I'm a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to my best friend James. I currently work with children with special needs, which teaches me so much about life. I love my job, and the things it teaches me. In my spare time, I like to go on random adventures, and explore new places, creating memories that last forever. I'm a convert to the church, becoming a member is one of the best decisions I have made.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon through choice. When I was a young child, I would attend church with my grandparents. I loved to go to church, and be a part of Primary. At the age of eight, when my Primary friends were getting baptised, I wanted this too, but, I was told by my parents I would have to wait until I was eighteen years old. I can see why I was told this, but at the time, it made me upset, I wanted to be baptised. I knew the church was true. Although I had been told no, I continued to attend church regularly. At the age of eleven, something had happened at home, and me and my family, all seven of us, had to move to my grandparents two bedroom flat. This was a challenge, but, something amazing happened from this. One night, my sister said to me "Mum said if you ask her now, she will let you get baptised..." I never thought I'd hear those words, I thought I was going to have to wait. Later that night, I asked my Mum, and she of course said yes! I was so happy. Later that same year, just after my twelfth birthday, I was baptised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by my Grandad, and confirmed the next day by my Great Grandad. I'm a Mormon because of the story I've shared, but also because I have gained a personal witness that the Church is true. I'm so happy that my parents had their hearts softened, I know that the Church is true, and I'm so grateful for all that it has done for my life. I'm Jade, and I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments I have been given, and live the standards I said I would. I'm not perfect, I make mistakes, but I'm trying to be the best I can be. I also live my faith by serving within my ward and stake. In my ward, I'm the seminary teacher. I teach early morning seminary, helping the youth to study the scriptures and strengthen their testimonies.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jade Wetherill
To increase faith in Jesus Christ, we must seek to gain knowledge, and act upon what we have been given. As we act on what we know to be true, we will be blessed, and we will see how The Lord will bless us, and our faith in Jesus Christ will begin to grow. Show more Show less
