Hi I'm Alison Woodbury

I'm an Arizona native, a tennis player, and I love to sing. I'm a full-time missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a passion for traveling and I hope to see the world someday. I'm a stickler for grammar and I love a good joke. I just finished my first semester of college at Brigham Young University in Provo, and now I'm serving in the Rapid City, South Dakota mission. I'm the youngest of five kids, an aunt to 4 wonderful kiddos, and a lover of learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I prayed and asked God if the teachings of the church were true and He answered my prayers and confirmed to me that this is His gospel. It took a lot of patience, and there wasn't a particular earth-shattering event that occurred, but as I continue to pray daily and seek His guidance in my life, it is reaffirmed to me every single day. I know that this Church is true because it is led by Jesus Christ himself through revelation by the Holy Ghost, and a living Prophet who acts as a messenger for our Heavenly Father. The teachings of the gospel have brought me so much closer to my Savior Jesus Christ, and He has become my best friend through every aspect of my life- both the struggles and the joys. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the same church that Christ established while on the earth 2,000 years ago. The teachings and priesthood power of that church were restored by the prophet Joseph Smith and are found today in the LDS church. Being a member of the church has helped me to understand my relationship to Heavenly Father as one of His precious daughters, and my total and complete dependence on my Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement. This knowledge brings me peace and happiness every day, and has strengthened me through each trial I've faced.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving every day to come closer to my Savior Jesus Christ, and helping others do the same through the things I say and do. I read from the Book of Mormon and the Bible in order to help me gain a better understanding of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and their plan for me. I seek out ways to serve those around me, and have found so much joy in participating in the Church's organization for women called the Relief Society, which focuses on serving lovingly and providing for the temporal and spiritual needs of the families in the area. I enjoy the opportunities I get to share my testimony with ward members and those interested in the church every week in our Sunday meetings. I love being a missionary, and I have had the wonderful opportunity to share the gospel in Sturgis, South Dakota and Casper, Wyoming.
