Hi I'm Elder Zach Hansen

I am serving a mission in Sendai, Japan and loving the food! I am happy to serve for full-time and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a highschool graduate, I've participated in debate, theatre, and choir. I've even made a few films and videos. I am very much a nerd, and I'd like to go study law at BYU after my mission. Food is my favorite.

Why I am a Mormon

I always find it curious when people ask me if I am a convert or a born member. To me, I feel like there shouldn't be a difference. Even though I was blessed with parents with strong testimonies, I needed to find my own testimony throughout the trials that come in life. I found it through consistently seeking for answers to my questions through prayer and the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. Then I found for myself the blessings of repentance and obedience, and I'm learning even now that the commandments are not just a bunch of overly strict rules, but that the Lord knows what will hurt and help us so he shows us the way.

How I live my faith

Right now I am putting my faith to the test daily as a missionary in a land completely foreign to me. I'm doing what I can to give other people a chance to find out for themselves the truths which I love. At the same time, I'm striving to show my love to my Lord Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father by being obedient to them. If there's one thing I hope to have accomplished by the end of these two years, I want to have a strong relationship with my God, maintained through constant prayer, scripture study, faith and repentance.
