Hi I'm John B. Shreve

I'm a singer, I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just got home from an L.D.S. mission. Where we serve the Lord, Jesus Christ, for two years. Before my decision to serve the Lord for two years I went to a community college studying Musical Theater. I really enjoy the outdoors, canoeing, camping, fishing, these all are things that I love to do. I have awesome parents and awesome siblings as well. I enjoy hanging out with my family often. There is no other joy similar to that of the joy that is centered upon the family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born Mormon. At eight years old I was baptized. As I grew older and learned more about the church the more I loved it and the more it became part of me. There however was a time when I needed to find out if it was true. I loved it but I needed to have my own personal conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So I began to pray really hard, I also began to read the Book of Mormon really seriously. I followed the promise in the Book of Mormon given by the ancient Prophet Moroni. He asks us to read these things and then pray with faith and sincerity to find out for yourself to know if it is true. I did this and after I finished the Book of Mormon I had a testimony of it, I prayed a lot over it and then recieved the truth. It is a true book of God. This meant to me the church was true and everything about it was true. Shortly after that I began to think strongly of going on a Mission for the Lord. I wanted to share this knowledge. In October of 2011, I recieved my mission call to bring the true Gospel of Jesus Christ to the People of Las Vegas, NV. That is now my calling in the church. I have been asked by a Prophet of God to Represent Christ in all things and to bring people closer to him. I love this opputunity to do this, I know the church is true and want to share it. It is a blessing to have this knowledge of the truth, families can be together forever, our Father in heaven really does love us and listen to our prayers. And yes! God has established the true Church on the Earth once more to bless everybodies lives. The Book of Mormon is really a book of God and along with The Bible all things can be learned and the fullness of the Gospel occurs. I love this church even through the diffucult times because I know that after the diffucult times comes the blessings.

How I live my faith

In my church before my mission I had the duty to teach other young men my age, we had the oppurtunity to serve and learn of happiness through love and service. Now I am serving a Full-time two year mission. I serve God and strive too help others learn of Christ and come closer to him. I have left my family, friends, hobbies, and schooling to do this. It is an awesome opportunity though because I know I am helping to bring others to a happiness that they have been searching for. The happiness that can only come through a true understanding of The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

John B. Shreve
The Holy Ghost is the Third member of the Godhead, he does not have a physical body. To me the most important thing that the Holy Ghost is, is that he is a comforter and a teacher. In fact he is a master at it. After baptism we are able to receive the Holy Ghost and he can be a "Constant Companion," someone who is always there for you. He teaches us truth, he cannot lie. He testifies to us and guides us. If I ever need to make a decision that will greatly effect my life, I go to the scriptures and I go to Heavenly Father. The Holy Ghost then has the opportunity to reveal to us the path we should take. Show more Show less
